Diesseits von Eden

Church and parish gardens are among Brandenburg's hidden treasures. Originally established as kitchen gardens to support parish families, they have evolved over time into botanical laboratories and species-rich ornamental gardens. What is the current state of Brandenburg's parish gardens, and what role do they play in the various communities today? As part of the artist-in-residence project "This Side of Eden," three artists will explore three parish gardens in Brandenburg from June to August, transforming them into open-air studios and artistic laboratories that engage with questions of ecology, biodiversity, and sustainability. The residencies will begin with a public "kick-off" event, where the artists will introduce themselves and present their projects. The results of their work will be showcased in "open studios," which will remain accessible to the public until 28 August.
